I really love where this is going but I felt that it deserves a proper dedicated project and not being part of this quick relighting study. Coming up in part 2 ... *soon ™*

UE4 relighting doodles

These are quick and loose lighting studies I've done of the upcoming game Ghost of Tsushima! This is my interpretation of their aesthetic/mood and I do realize that a lot of things aren't really similar. For instance, I find that the skies are rather different in terms of style and fidelity compared to the game. But for the sake of time and not creating the assets myself, I digress.

I took a break from my main personal project (go check out my blog) that I'm spending way too much time on. This is why I gave myself less time on this exercise for a change of pace. I've spent about 2-3 evenings in each lighting scenario. In the end, I picked only a few out of a dozen that I've made.

For the last shot with the red tree, I attempted to really push the visual fidelity of Ghost of Tsushima but I felt it deserves its own dedicated project/assets and not being part of this quick relighting study. I'll do a proper scene with the whole idea once I've figured out everything.

As I said, the goal of this study was to make quick and loose moods from the game; not making assets. Assets used (although I heavily tweaked them) :
